Background: To many products are designed for extreme ease of use or safety.
Extremely "responsible" products leave little space to the imagination or creative (mis)use, they lose their poetry.
From this point of view I designed an 'unsafe' table, where the unsafeness increases its poetical aspect.
Using the table destroys it.
The table is Part of a series of 4 tables in which I tried to communicate my view on Design.
The Paraffine Table is mainly a statement about design.

Achtergrond: Te veel producten zijn ontworpen vanuit extreem gebruiksgemak of veiligheid.
Volledig 'verantwoord' ontworpen producten laten weinig ruimte voor fantasie of creatief gebruik (misbruik), ze verliezen hun poëzie.
Vanuit dit standpunt heb ik een 'onhandige' tafel ontworpen waarbij de onhandigheid het poëtische aspect versterkt.
Het gebruik van de tafel betekent ook zijn vernietiging.

De tafel is onderdeel van een serie van 4 tafels waarin ik mijn visie op design heb uitgedrukt.
Hij is voornamelijk een statement over ontwerpen.
